One of my fuel pumps died.

One of my fuel pumps died. The T Rex supplied with my vortech has bit the dust. I now only have a walbro 255 in tank pump. I am thinking of upgrading to a single external Areomotive pump or a second 255 internal.
Does anyone have any input on eighter setup Pros or cons?

I like the looks of the Aeromotive pump with the electronic controller. I wish I had someone to give me feedback after they used it in a real world application...nudge nudge...

RE: One of my fuel pumps died.

I have had great luck with the two internals.I also know almost the ENTIRE supra community is using the exact same two internal setup.I know for a fact its good for 1000 crank horsepower cause my friends car made 900 RWHP through a turbo 400 tranny with 2- 255s.No pressure or volume problems whatsoever and they dont burn up like the aeromotives.I know I had two of them burn up on me.
The electronic controler is just delaying the inevitable.

stay away from esternal aeromotives.... I HATE MINE WITH A PASSION. i have the 1000hp pump.

RE: One of my fuel pumps died.

Anyone used the Walboro 340 l/hr pumps yet? I think they have internal and external.

RE: One of my fuel pumps died.

Is there a need on my setup to upgrade the walbro 255 to anything bigger ?

RE: One of my fuel pumps died.

No reason.I have seen one pump supply enough fuel to make 510RWHP on a turbo supra.
And that was mid 30s base pressure and 25LBs of boost. So about 60LBS of pressure at max boost with a 1-1 regulator. No pressure drop whatsoever.

Jeremy you are ok with low boost in the 6 psi range. When you get your itch for more power it should be on your list.
I like the idea of two pumps in tank because the external pumps are so noisy. External pumps are easier to work on but how often do you work on a good pump. Keith

If you keep your line pressure loss to a minimum with larger fuel lines and fuel rails you can get by with smaller pumps.
