P1537 code

This appears to be a busted vacuum diaphragm in the passenger’s side IMRC keeping it open all the time. Put a hose on it and air easily passes in and out of the thing and the actuator does not move except by hand. The other side closes with vacuum normally, and does not leak air. Called down to the dealership and they want over 500 bucks for the thing. I am thinking it is the whole apparatus not just the vacuum breaker.

Where is the best place to get one of these things?

It is on a 1996 Diamond Anniversary Edition.

How is the best way to get the thing off? It seems difficult to access.

When I replaced my intake, I had the luxury of easy access when replacing the vacuum actuators. I wouldn't want the job of replacing one of the actuators while still in the car.

RE: P1537 code

I will give Max a call but...

I have checked into these things a little and the outlook is poor. I think for an average car they are around $200 each, $500 for the Mark might be in order. Ouch!

Maybe I can get it off (may be tough enough) then repair the old one. Humm... a diaphram repair kit.

RE: P1537 code

They are much cheaper than that but I believe the intake would need to be removed for access.
