Quick and easy carrier/gears questions!

What I'm attempting to prepare for is to go from the stock LSC setup to 4.10/limited slip. So I have a couple craigslisters in my sights, one is selling an 8.8" traction-lok removed from a '92 Mustang GT, and another I have to call regarding 8.8" 4.10 gears bolted to an open carrier. Do I need to look out for any incompatibilities other than the LSD being 28-spline? Gears are gears, if the 8.8" diameter is the same (both ads say 8.8), it should all bolt up in theory? Nothing to worry about such as parts coming from solid axles? Just from hunting around the Ford Racing Parts website, they seem rather compliant...
