Started out at 47 degree's.. which is what the temp was on that run.
The temp fell to 38 degree's and the track surface got too cold...

my first 60 was the best, 2.08..
After that I went 2.2 and 2.3 on a 14.55 run and a 14.60 run.

Was COLD AS CRAP!
 
Kinda what I figured!

Too cold and the track won't hook hardly at all, but on those rare days... :D

Glen went 2.03/60 before the track went to dookie, the 2.08 was my best 60 so far. it was just too cold for the surface to hold any heat.

There was a time back in '05 I was running 14.3s to low 14.5s @ 95.x to 96.x mph. So the MPH doesn't sound that far off to me. That would've been with a chip, exhaust and 4.10s with not much else.

I thought I remembered many stock Marks trapping at 98-99 mph, but maybe I'm just out of it with the flu right now.

No way a stock Mark VIII traps 98-99mph unless they have a cheater shot of nitrous. 95MPH is a healthy stock MPH for the 1/4 mile.

his car went well.. I believe that was his first 60' in the 2.1 range!!

temps were in the low 50's high 40's and a ferocious wind was blowing from the rear 1/4 acrossed the track, not a direct tailwind but from the side.. ish.
Was COLD.. BRRRRR.

No improvement from my car, ran a string of 14.30's early on.. and some low 14.20's later on, not enough cool down between runs to make any "progress".

I'd entered both the street stock race AND the Jackpot race, and was literally "round robin" running the car.
First street stock, then straight back to the lanes for jackpot.

made it to the semi's in both races.. before losing.
came in 3rd in both races, ONE round out of the money.. dangit!!!

Number 15!!! Whooohoo! I can deal with that. Time for new tires! I tried to list my times myself but I could not log on yet. Guess I was still "awaiting activation" Yeah...We crazy 8's take care of each other. Thanks Bro!!! Yep was definately my first in the 2.1's. Probably our last cold blast too. Im curious what my times will be at 100ºF?
