the cober awas under tuned so Ford looks good when they rase the HP the next year so people buy one. Now the mustang v6 on the other hand i say its becous the first V6 was the same bass at the T-bird SC 3.8 I'd love to get a 3.8l stang and get the SUPERCHARGER of a T-Bird that with slight modificaton can pump out 300+hp and 300lbs lighter. $14,000 for a new 96 stang $2000 for the SC parts and mods for over 300 hp or a $36,000 96 Cobra 305hp
 
The factory rating on the Terminator's was 390BHP, MM&FF took it off the showroom floor and it had a rating of somewhere around 420BHP. They came with a highly restrictive exhaust and a larger pulley than originally intended. Thats why people are getting such good numbers by buying them stock and loosing the crappy exhaust, and changing the pulley.

The SC 3.8 theory is great, too bad the 3.8's are P.O.S. :D
 
I had heard that that 3.8 sc was from the SVT toy box and was detuned. Problem was its all aluminum and overheating kills it very easy and head warped and brake
 
Could have been de-tuned, and yes, they popped head gaskets like they were going out of style. Even the N/A 3.8's blow head gaskets.
