Removing spark plugs, damaging heads?

Got my autolite 764's, MSD wires, PCV, fuel filter, all ready to go. Started to remove the #4 plug, and it felt really tight, like it didn't want to turn. #3 plug also felt tight, like it didn't want to turn. The holes are dry, no oil leaks. I'm afraid of damaging the threads trying to remove the plugs. Any ideas? Thanks..

RE: Removing spark plugs, damaging heads?

I have had that problem more than once. Whoever did them before probably didn't put any Anti-Sieze on the threads.

Sometimes they just feel tight. You just have to muscle them off.
I have only heard of ONE vehicle that stripped a plug hole and he actually ended up pulling out the previous owners heli coil.So obviously there was already a problem with that hole.

If your really worried about it dump a bunch of WD-40 or Liquid Wrench or PB blaster down the hole and then give it a few minutes. It will find its way to the threads.Just make sure to use anti sieze when you put it back together.

Just like chris said, I just muscled it out. I put the new one in with some antisieze, and it went in "smooth like butta".

I got em all out, each one feelin rough as it turned out. A little anti-sieze, and the new ones went in nice and smooth.
