Time for something new

I'm taking the Blue Flame tomorrow to get a whole new exhaust installed from the headers back.

and pair of free flowing Hooker MaxFlows.

The cutouts will be plumbed similar to the pic below but with the X instead of the H-pipe.

I'll try to get pics of the install and a vid for a soundclip.

Here are some pics of the work...

Old soldier removed from service.
Note the sloppy work on the downpipes.

The long awaited pinion brace installed with the exhaust pipes out of the way.

Kudos to the shop, Rodeheaver HotRod and Auto Repair, and to Tim Rodeheaver, the installer. :D

The sound is just awesome with the new mufflers. I still have the electrics to hookup before I get to hear it through the cutouts. Then we'll get a vid with a couple sound clips posted up. :wink2-green

Looks great!

It would be nice to open up the exhaust with the flip of a switch. I'd have a lot of fun with that mod.:D

Check out the Photo Album for more pics and outrageously huge video.

Any good freeware video compression software someone can point me to?

I have a question for the group--I have a 94 Mark, and it is making a hissing sound, like it has a hole in the exhaust-but no holes, its all new. The bolts are all ok too on the engine...Thoughts?

Thanks, I love it!

Had the stall converter swapped today so that meant a trip to Ohio. Other than the morning snow, I enjoyed the roar of the new exhaust. After the new converter was in it was mandatory to check it out. Of course, no better time than to open the cutouts to keep them from gumming up. :wink2-green

Besides the long dual black marks and cloud of tire smoke, I flushed birds for a two mile radius! :D

When is the tune/track time ?

This coming weekend. Tune on Saturday in Richmond, track on Sunday(weather permitting) at Mason Dixon Dragway. :wave022:

I plan to get dyno runs with the cutouts closed and open for comparison both before and after the tune. Not only to see what HP may or may not be there but to check the A/F ratio as well.

While the car was on the rack for the converter, I reversed the sensor lowering to give height back for the cutouts. However, I went ahead and ordered the ASHAM8 module to be able to easily raise/lower it as conditions allow. :wink2-green

Next Sunday is looking pretty good (so far) for weather in this area....High 50's - low 60's and fair. No rain....SO FAR!

Richmond??? Virginia? You got a few miles to cover by race day, eh?

Yessir... 303.8 miles / 4 hrs 44 minutes to Richmond from Morgantown.

172.2 miles / 2 hrs 36 minutes from Richmond to Mason Dixon.

150.1 miles / 2 hrs 12 minutes from Mason Dixon to Morgantown.

A few years ago I went from LA to Vegas in 2 hrs 40 minutes.

Calculate those numbers... ;)

Needless to say I was dead tired afterward.

:har:

That's probably more true than you know. My right shoulder gets tender when we ride together. LOL

Yeah...my wife refuses to ride in my car with me. Whenever we go anywhere together, it's in the H2...which I thoroughly enjoy trying to park.
