Hey i am looking for a trans to swap in to mine
I build my Jmodded trans myself back at 50k but with now 130k on the clock its leaking at the pump.
Debating whether or not to swap in a low miles unit or rebuild again.
Will the 99up trans interchange... as far as main controls go?
Do we have to make new sep plate and mods again? Just wondering if the 98 main control will fit the 99 up's
500 bucks is a good price for a trans thats low mileage and in good shape.
Just a converter cost you 2-300 for a good one and parts/clutches, pressing in seals bushing etc.. run another 400 bucks..
You cant really build the unit for 500 bucks plus its pretty new at only 18k miles if taken care of should last you over 100k

Welp i was hoping someone would chime in here that has more up to date information than I do.
Everything will bolt up fine, as far as wiring i know that there were main control changes and wiring changes from the 93 to 98 models.
However anything 98 and up will have better clutches ie Ford changed the friction materials in 98 and they went to the MD OWC the Mechanical Diode One Way Clutch which was the main failure in the 97 and lower trannys.
