transmission questions

OK so looking for some insight my buddy's mark has been acting up the transmision would jump out gear every once in a while and now it is coming out of gear all the time now any ideas on what couutld cause this can the mlps switch cause this thanks when it comes out of gear u have to Rev up the rpms. To make it go back into gear

If this happens on the freeway (steady cruising then suddenly it pops out of gear), then its MLPS, its cheap enough so you should start there.

If its happens on the 2/3 shift and 3/4 shift... You will need a new transmission.

His is a 93 I think its time for a transmission he has 130 k on it

Look for a '98. It already has the "bulletproof" kit in it!

You can actually make a 4-2 downshift without breaking the transmission. Lots of upgraded internals, the 98+ 4R70W should last over 200k miles easy. The pre 98 transmissions are ... well flawed.
