Trunk Light

I recently noticed during a 3 day power outage, that my 01 Town Car does not have a trunk light! My 86 has a trunk light but no light in the 01. I was just curious to see what people do for a trunk light. Are there after market lights available and how did you install them.

Check behind the trunk lining? My 02 Town Car has one but it was hanging loose on the drivers side. I'm not sure exactly where it was supposed to mount, it appears the plastic mounting stud was broken. I simply wedged it under the torsion bar for the trunk lid.

Probably a cost savings.

They removed the underhood light on the gen 2 mark 8's.

I found the wiring shoved down by the CD changer. The light was un-clipped and shoved above the plastic panel on the left side of the trunk. I'm surpised I never heard the light rattling around in there. Clipped it all back together and now I have light!! Thanks!!

Those plastic panels in the trunk...they have a square hole in them on each side of the trunk. Does anybody have any idea what the holes are for??

My question is not with the absent tail light in the trunk, but with the optional trunk pull-down motor in my daughter's 1991 Town Car.

The trunk lid on the car does not automatically pull down to locked position any longer, and I'm not sure if it is a fuse, a circuit breaker, the wiring, or the motor itself. Anyone else have a similar problem and possible solution to get it working again?
