It is with much sadness that I bring to you the news on the lose of "Kale" Momi Kainoa, one of the founding members/co presidents of LOD and web master.

I would like to offer my sincere condolences to his family and friends.

I only spoke will Kale a few times on the phone in the past and through e-mails when getting the current site working and doing some trouble shooting. It was always his intentions of meeting up at Carlisle one year but now that will never happen.
Like my self Kale has not been an active poster on the board lately, but he has contributed a lot to the club working behind the scenes with the ISP, setting up the message board, web pages and putting together a lot of technical information on the air suspensions. You can see that here: http://www.lincolnmarkviii.org/suspension/airsuspension1.htm

Kale leaves behind a wife and two small children.

Here is the information on the fatal accident:

A 34-year-old Lacey resident died early Saturday in a motorcycle accident in Lacey.
Lacey police said the accident happened about 4 a.m. near the intersection of Compton Boulevard and Stockton Drive Southeast in the Lake Pointe subdivision.

When police arrived, they found Kale Momi Kainoa lying in the roadway with no detectable breathing or pulse.

Resuscitation efforts by Lacey Fire Department paramedics were unsuccessful.

The Police Department’s collision investigation team was trying to determine why Kainoa was thrown from his motorcycle.

I dont know what to say. I traded emails with him just weeks ago. He was talking about his new motorcycle.

I am in shock. I dont have any words.

This is terrible news. It doesn't seem like that long ago where we read of his mourning the loss of his father. [link:lincolnsclub.org/forum/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=33&topic_id=21178&mesg_id=21178&listing_type=search|He wrote a touching eulogy.] :(

Paul...I just re-read what I wrote to Kale...he seemed touched...he is in a better place now, with his Father, sharing memories....bless them both.

RE: Very sad news, The LOD Community loses one of its founders.

Kale's brother John phoned me last night to inform me of Kale's passing. I was shocked and and saddened.

Though I have never met Kale in person, I considered him one of my close true friends. I have known him since we founded this club in 1999. I spoke with him by phone, text message and e-mail often.

He has helped the club often, most recently with the last server outage a few weeks ago. He was still working on several trouble tickets with the server, investigating a backdoor planted on the server, and trying to migrate this message board to a entirely new program. I don't know who will fill this role now. He did this all just because I asked him to help. He never asked for any money.

The leaves behind two small children, son Kimo and daughter Bella.

His brother requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be sent through Washington Mutual in support of his children. The club will be sending a donation.

Kale was brilliant and has helped a lot of people, some that he had never met.

We had planned several times for him to come out to All-Ford Carlisle, but something always came up that it did not happen. I regret that I never met him in person.

Kale has died too young. Rest in peace my friend, Kale.

Wow, that's so terrible! He was a great guy with a great heart, always willing to help us out. IS there a link where we can send donations?
