Nice watch and clock!
I love watches and clocks!
Here are my watches, not much, gimmic and old watches, I've collected through the years.
Lef to right, my Lionel watch, fake Rolex, various old watches, Machine watch, and Shepards watch.
I like watches and collect some, nothign too expensive but more like technology like watches. I just got this new one and its pretty cool:
Got it from this site and it uses a 6th generation ipod nano.
very cool, where did you get that?I also have one of these little beauties sitting on my desk here at work:
nice Mike I will take a pic of my watch box, I got some g-shocks mainly, a couple of Fossil PDA watches (was collecting the series) most pictured on this site hereI have a small collection that includes passed on family members watches from prior generations.
Here's what I usually wear when out on the town:
TAG WK1120 (I do not have a actual picture of it so I borrowed this one)
Here's a pic of my latest acquisition that I wear most of the time:
Vintage 1952 Omega
cool I will check it out, I subscribe to wired so I will also check that out. ThanksVery nice collections, all of them. I just love this stuff.
Mike P, my desk clock is the "ice tube" clock kit purchased from adafruit.com. I picked it up about a year ago. it's based on an old Russian VFD tube. sweet stuff. Actually, "Ladyada", who designed the kit, is featured in this month's Wired magazine.
Yea it is pretty big, but I have big body parts, so it works, lol. Those rotary ones are cool, may have to get one off ebay.MikeP - I also have that same exact Casio Pathfinder watch - it's HUGE!
I love digitals, especially Seiko digitals. Unfortunately here in the digital age they no longer make their once-great LCDs, only analog. Pictured here below are 2 watches that I have, the venerable Seiko A829 series. These watches were the favored watches of the NASA space shuttle astronauts of the early to mid 1980s. It has a rotary bezel, you simply turn the dial to bring up the desired function. Looks cool, but Seiko only produced these from 1982 to 1984. I wish they'd bring these back! I have several of each, plus parts, and they still run great and look new!
a couple of my g-shock watches that are solar, the black/dark blue one is a metal band and really nice, it is solar and the other black one my kids got me is too.Seiko had several solar watches, here's one of them. In 1982 they also introduced a TV watch, but it never caught on, neither did their "Data Bank".
Tissot is very nice brand, I have a list of thousand dollar watches I want, one day!!This is one my dad gave me a few years ago. Tissot Chronograph from the late 60 - early 70s.
This is a stock photo too, not mine. More pics here.
The crystal on mine is badly scratched and I've been trying to find someone with a replacement. There's a Swiss watch authorized repair center local to me who couldn't do anything with it, but I since found an online guy who may be able to replace it.
Mark, give the same treatment we give our Gen II headlight lenses. I use Meguires PLAST-X on my watch. Works for me.....
did you try contacting Tissot directly?I've tried plastic polish but there are some deep gouges that just won't come out without major removal of material. The Swiss watch repair shop I took it to said they would "try" to polish it out, but insisted that they be able to remove it from the case, and wanted $395 for a total overhaul of the watch in the mean time. The watch works perfectly, so I said no thanks.
I'm going to give this guy a shot and see what he can do. He says he can replace crystals for a reasonable fee, but I might see what he can do as far as restoring the case itself too.
