White Lightning - Rebirth

god I'm so friggen jealous. What kind is that and what did it run you? IF the house I want to buy works out I will be doing a lift very shortly after I buy it....

No need for jealousy here bud, it's just a freaking lift ;) I've been telling myself the same thing over and over, but finally said F it and bought one.

That looks great Jeremi.

I'd like to see how that lift holds my black Mark, while I change that front brake line.:D

Let me know if you need some meatloaf help putting that one back on wheels this weekend. I have to be in Novi Saturday morning anyway.:)

Bill, Saturday should be fine, call before though ...

Kewl... is that a MaxJax?

yep, in all it's glory ;). I've been spending way too much time on GJ not to buy one :D

can you still get to cars in the garage?

No issues getting in, or going thru the space. It's also extremely portable so the columns can be removed when not in use.

This is already starting to be an exciting build. :) Congrats on the garage toy, I like that setup!

Is this the Todd that lived in Elk Grove....the one I went to the races with....and worked on his suburban...?? When we went to the races, he was only pulling 14's so I know it wasn't fixed up then, but it was the same color.

Bill....CL has a TON of Gen 1's for sale right now. One of them looks decent for 700 bucks.

How do you move it? It looks bolted to the floor.

I think each post is stand alone and you just slide off the arms and unbolt the columns.

Does that stroked engine put out much more power than stock? I have read alott lately on stroking these 4.6's. Most write-ups and opinions say it doesn't do much (especially considering the cost) without a super charger.

I haven't been able to locate the dyno sheet so I'm not sure of the exact numbers but I believe it was around 316rwhp/322rwtq. I was expecting a little more but I'm sure those numbers are going to sky rocket after the addition of the twin screw :D

Well,
time for a small update on the new car.

The headers are at JetHot getting recoated with an upgraded coating. No help on the issue from SCP, who is clearly to cheap to spend extra $25 for the better coating.

The transmission is in pieces at Detroit Gearbox. We found several major issues from the prior build done by SCP, all of which are being addressed in proper manner. Too bad SCP couldn't get it right the first time. Trivial issues really, but I guess not everybody can build a hi-po 4R70W. Same goes for the ultra noisy differential. More on that later.

Both the trans case, and the differential case are getting pcoated.

Both craddles (the front K-member) and rear subframe have been pcoated already, and the assembly of each will start next week hopefully.

The actual car received the brand new back window today. There are only two windows left in the depot for the whole country, if anybody needs one, speak up now. The price is hard to beat.

Also, the car is going into the paint booth tomorrow morning.

There is also some progress on the old MI car, but more on that tomorrow.

Man, this is exciting! Gonna be hard to beat.....are we trying to beat Mike's budget or are you building a bad ass Mark on a Jeremi budget?

I hate hearing things like that. Makes me wonder if I should just take mine and put it in a nitrogen-filled vault for ten years.

It is what it is. The first method was already tried out on the old car. We're gonna do it "the other" way this time ;)

Well, mine was half of yours $$$ wise. I might do just that ;)

Since Jeremi has a pattern for selling his rides after about 1 yr... I will be back... seriously looking at this thing, haha Jesse style.

I usually sell them a lot quicker than 1yr  :D

The old car is back together, with the drivetrain from the CA car.
The engine bay on this one was also stripped of the fungly black paint, and redone in gray rust proof paint.

Gotta do something about these roller wheels ;)

What's the plan for the MI car? I don't really have money to spend on this stuff right now, but it's looking a lot better than mine!

I'm confused. Are both of these cars white? LOL? Sorry its late...

You're confused ? What am I supposed to say ? It's like a ground hog day for me everyday with these cars. yes they are both Opal Opalescent i.e. white ;)

No real plans, I'll probably keep it around for a little while. Let me know if you want to check it out.

Back to business,
the CA car is out of paint. The engine bay is begging for the "stuffing" :D

I'm scratching my head as to the wizardry it took to get that car in a paint booth in that condition. Nice work!!
