My engine start-ups are never anything specials. Crank, fire up, idle. ;)

I didn't have anybody available to take the vid, plenty busy myself making sure everything is
Crank, fire and idle..............I guess it's all in the preparation:thumbsup:

OCCUPY LoD :)
I doubt I'll go that far. If you remove the two screws that hold the liner to the bumper cover, you can pull it back, and easily reach in there to get the filter out.
At least it's out of the elements. Oil change is probably something that will be done once or twice a year on this car anyway ;)
I didn't think about going this route with the Tan car. I actually removed the valance on the bottom. Is the filter in a spot where it'll drain into a bucket or does it drain off the valance and require cleaning after?

Still poking at the buyer....still want that trans. ;)

Te olvidaste de mi? (That's Spanish).
Once the tuning is complete, we'll shoot some footage - I'll be calling you ;)

Was this already answered regarding the remote oil filter setup hoses?
Sorry if I've missed it. Since the filter location you choose is very dependent on your application, all the lines need to be custom made to the exact lengths. Not a big deal either with Aeroquip push-lock hoses and fittings. Also, Transdapt sells a kit you could use a on a stock mark viii with a spin-on adapter, 36" hoses, and the filter mounting bracket.

I guess it's all in the preparation
Well there are always exceptions from this rule ... some cars like to be PITA.

On the tan car, just pull the lower valance, I wouldn't do it any other way. The 1st gen bumper is all one piece there, so need to go thru the wheel well.

The trans is gone (should be installing it in a local car this summer), the buyer ... well you know ;)

Where have you been ? I hoped nothing went wrong with the hoist install

The car is Black on Light Graphite and has not been repainted. And I would kill to have this car back in my possession.

I'm sure Jeremi can sell it back to you! I've seen it and I can attest it's a fantastic example of what can be done with ingenuity, know-how, and desire.
This car should be parked inside the lobby of the glass house in Dearborn for a while so the engineers can look it over.

And see what they missed doing.

I'm sure he can sell it to me. Just don't know if I can buy it from him. Very expensive (but completely worth it IMHO) work he is performing.

Plus, I'm 6'5" tall with a bad back and driving a stick has always caused me discomfort and problems.:(

This very one is for a 2002 Ford Ranger. I imagine it's similar for most manual rangers. The nipple faces straight down, and helps with hose routing.
It's still available from Ford, and reasonably priced.

My old '94 ranger had one that looked just like that.
Yup, good eye ;)

It looks like a stock '89-'95 Thunderbird Super Coupe clutch reservoir.
I didn't like how the SC reservoir had the nipple facing straight out, it created unnecessary kinks in the line. This area is a bit different on the lincoln vs SC, due to multiple wire harnesses.

Nice to know, good tip!

What I was thinking, but not a easy find.

Awesome...thanks !!

One thing I wanted to point out in this thread.
You received the car Oct 2011
March 2012.... 6 months... insane amount of time for what was done.
In that 6 months... you also had 3 different members cars in you man cave, and went skiing in the alps.
One last question.....when do you sleep?
Maybe you don't

I actually received the car sometime in July. I pulled the engine out of it on Oct 20th. It left the garage under new power on March 9th. So it's actually just under 5 months.

Countless other projects including engine pulls, trans pulls, engine swaps, several jmods, lol ...

Sleep is overrated. :p

Like I said in a previous post: the speed at which you seem to work is unbelievable.

I diverted his attention a couple of times with front wheel bearings, and a leaking oil filter adapter gasket which ended up having to pull the k-member for a very thorough cleaning!

It got me the chance to look over that Gen1 twice and salivate. Plus learn some things, like that I needed to pick up a Porter-Cable polisher, which I now have!

Off topic, but those porter cable polishers work good. They are just slow but that is why it is very difficult to damage the paint. I got a starter kit from Adam's Polishes and had good results.

Well, to make it part of the car topic I offer the following.
I was going to buy one of those for this car when I had it. The car cover created some blemishes from wind buffeting but Jeremi had those polished right out. Car looks amazing compared to what it used to be (at least as far as I can tell from the photos).
