Buckled down and stayed after work today to try to knock out some of the bushings since the weather is hinting that it wants to get warm. I tried to take some pics along the way but I just wanted to finish so I could get home.

Just getting started with the first side. I know the table is a mess but that will happen when you switch setups every three parts.

The bottom half of the front bushings.

This is the top half for the front bushings

Finished!

Either Friday or Saturday I will be able to fish up the the rear bushings and the sleeves that go in them.

I've never cared for Polyurethane diff bushings. I've had a few sets on different MarkVIII's and they seem to develop some noticable slop after a while.

The way you drive that car, it would'nt take long. I'd try to find OR make a set of delrin units.

I'm looking at using these bushings for my differential:

http://www.cjponyparts.com/prothane...kit-polyurethane-cobra-irs-1999-2004/p/CAB39/

Anyone have any experience with these guys and or have recommendations for bushings to use?
I think most poly bushings are the same. The CAB39 bushing does not work with our differentials/IRS - it is a Cobra specific part. SCP sells a HD rear mount and you can also find it at http://performanceartworks.com/Products.php.

I've been wanting to try solid front differential bushings like those that can be found at http://www.fulltiltboogieracing.com.

For the rear mount I want to make something at work. But the time just isn't there so it will have to be a project down the road.

As for the diff bushings maybe I should just make them out of aluminum and not worry about it. I could pull all the stuff out of the scrap bin at work for it.

You guys are no fun. Don't keep wielding tanks in your car. Don't put aerosols on the stove.

Live a little.

Well several days of work to update (I'm putting off going to the garage because this is my first Saturday off in 7 weeks ;) )

I decided that I wanted to fill in some of the wields around the sub-frame because some of them looks like they were cracking and I decided that it was a good time just to take some extra precautions and just do it. So I took it over to the father in-laws's shop and had them wield them for me. Nothing fancy just needed to get the job done.

Last weekend after I was done with my work I stuck around work and finished the front set of sub-frame bushings and made the pins that will press into the center of them. Makes for a long day when you work 8 hours thens stick around 5 more to finish your own projects, but I knew it needed to be done.

On Sunday I decided to get everything painted so that way I could start putting all the bushings in. My dad made fun of the way I hung everything. He called it my "redneck painting apparatus" but I don't care it worked all the same. I was a bit nervous at first hanging the subframe that way but it held no problem.

I have the all the bushings pressed in and it's time to start reassembling the subframe to go back into the car. I just need to get pictures of everything and post them up. Hopefully by this afternoon I will have the subframe reassembled except for the front diff bushings because I forgot the post off closed at 10 and they are stuck there all weekend now

I broke one of my Sensors when I was taking the subframe out of my car. I assume its not possible to just put the wires back together? Also from a quick search I haven't found any new ones available so that leads me to believe that I can only get a used one. 93-97 are all the same correct?

If anyone has one that they could ship out this week let me know....

Any body know about the difference in years? The other site is saying 97 is its own year when I have read that 93-97 are the same in a couple areas. Just curious.

I am very impressed by the great work you've done, your Mark is truly awesome!!
It takes a lot of time and determination to plow into such a large project, I can just imagine the countless hours you have invested in this car..but the results are sure worthwhile - many congrats to ya!
I think it's time they remove the word "beginner" next to your user name, you've got a lot more stripes then that, in my opinion..

Thanks, there have been many times where I thought I was in over my head. And a few springs where the car didn't see the road because I wasn't finished with the winters mods. I'm far from a professional and I have to rely upon a lot of help from my Father and friends. But the car is a million times more fun to drive and that's what makes it all worth it.

Well finally got the last bolt drilled out tonight. Looks like Friday night is the night where I will get the sub frame back into the car. So since I have a few min tonight before I head to bed I thought I would get caught up on some pics.

Had two pieces left that needed to be painted so I set my brother to work and made him earn his keep ;)

While he was doing that Dad and I were pressing in the new bushings into the sub

This is a pic of all that was left of one of the sub frame bushings that was in my car. I would say 17 years in the Midwest had its way with them.

Friday night when I got home I had a package waiting for me. I was my new bushings for the pumpkin. First thing Saturday morning I sat down with cad and got the dimensions that way I have something to start with in case I break these and need to make them out of aluminum in the future.

Then I headed out to the garage to finish putting everything back together.

I bought new sway bar end links because mine weren't in the best of shape.

Its supposed to look like that right? (I guess its kinda hard to tell in the picture but it's bent really bad above the top bushings)

I had some Energy Suspension Sway bar bushings laying around that I bought 4 years ago give or take so I figured that it was prolly time to get them on there.

This is all the pics I have for now. Hopefully the next time the car is back on the ground and I can move onto bigger and better projects :D
