Call for Lincolns!

JP: Brad wants to know what happened with the '96 after you got it home for a better look ... what caused it to overheat?

The cooling fan motor needed replaced. I had to special order one and replaced it last weekend. Tested it out a couple nights after work this past week and gave it a clean bill of health.

I actually took the '96 on a local charity cruise today and it performed quite well. :)

That's kind of funny, you take your cars to the limit, and the only thing you break are cooling fans.:D

JP, did you use the 93 fan motor that's available thru rockauto ?

No, I ordered one thru NAPA. They showed the same motor from '93 thru '96. Truthfully, I never thought about RockAuto for some reason. The current one in the '93 came from NAPA and is still going strong despite the abuse from the cooling fan bypass mod. So I had no reason to suspect this one to be any different. The one I replaced was OEM with 150K+ miles.
