Damn you guys, you got me so jealous of that LM 3800, I decided to get "one" myself.

Well, not exactly. I hate throwing out good parts, so I modified my old chain drive opener to mimic your $300 opener ;)

28 tooth sprocket @ $7.95 and couple hours of work. Works like a dream :)

LOOOL! Leave it to Jeremi! I wouldn't have even known how to figure out the tooth count had I tried that route.
 
It's easy math. The small sprocket turns 24.5 times per cycle with 8 teeth, the door shaft spins 7 times per cycle and needs 28 teeth to make the door travel the same distance and speed.
 
Jeremi, you once again show your ingenuity. I have two Lift Masters that are now obsolete (no safety switches) and one is on borrowed time due to board problems. That Mod would be just the ticket. Nice job!!
