No one was hurt... but the car is totaled.

I was pulling out at an intersection, turning right. I had to pull up to see around cars stopped in the lanes to the left of me. I saw a car coming just as I pulled out. I accelerated to put distance between us and apparently he accelerated to go around me in his left lane. The car lost traction due to gravel at the intersection, spun and kicked out into his lane just as he was surprisingly beside me. The impact fishtailed me out of control and we impacted again. :(

I received a citation for failure to maintain control. :eek:
 
wow JP, that sucks, but as you always hear as long as no one got hurt then that is good.

The Mark VIII are a strong car, that must have been quite the scary impact :eek:
 
Son of a BITCH! I want to cry.

God dammit, it infuriates me when you pull up to an intersection to make a right turn and some moron in the left lane creeps up so you can't see around them. Then you try to pull up and they creep up some more. Idiots. The cop should have issued a citation to them! It's technically illegal after all.

Wow!!! It's a sad sad day here on LOD. But the important part is that all involved are ok. Is there any chance at all to save the blue flame? The Blue Flame MUST burn eternal. After all...it's an inspiration to others.
 
I am seeing a "white flame" in your future JP. Please keep that glorious engine although I'm sure that has been your plan all along. You have so much work into this car. Maybe I'm wrong, but I can see the custom hood as being quite salvageable too provided you find a good body shop that can do good patchwork on that corner. I had very similar damage to my hood in the past, same corner, and with the hands of a good body guy, now you can't tell at all. Keep us updated!! :reallod:
