    Explanation and Cost

As many know, I'm a computer guy not a mechanic. So, as I had my car up the lift getting its tranny fluid drained I did a walk around of the suspension. Seems the rubber is worn and torn around the horizontal arms by the wheels as well as the vertical arms rubber that run up toward the air...

    Mileage dropped 1.5 mpg

I've noticed that my mileage has dropped from 18 mpg city to 16.8 mpg city over the last 6 months. I have recently had the fuel filter changed with no difference in mpg. The car idles fine, drives fine, takes off fine. Just wondering what may be causing this. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Strange Shift out of First

I've noticed off and on that when I drive off after the car sitting over night or for a long time it has a hard time shifting into second -- almost 4000 rpms before it shifts. It does this one time and then the rest of the time it is fine. It doesn't do it all the time but usually after sitting...

    Tammy Gets a Rag Top

We bought Tammy a 2004 Mustang Convertible, 45,700 miles on it. V6 with Pony Package, 40th anniversary edition. The Mark still parks in the garage though.

    Looking for Shocks

Anyone have or can recommend a good place to buy some rear shocks? Stock shocks or the like is what I'm looking for.

    Tail Light Out and On

I get a computer message once in awhile that my rear brake light is out. Sometimes it stays on and thus I have a tail light out when I check. Or it goes off and my brake lights are fine again. Must be a short. What is the best way to clean and/or replace the bulb back there? Thanks.

There is hope - Spring is coming

For the last couple of days the leaves have started coming out here. The first ones to bud are always the Arizona Ash, see background. About a week or so earlier than usual. Just to let you folks know who live north of south Texas, there is Spring coming. Maverick, foreground, and storm...

    Stripped Oil Plug PT Cruiser

So I take my wife's PT Cruiser to get its oil changed. Find out the oil plug is smoother than a baby's ass. The guy who did it before did a heck of a job smoothing it out for me. The oil change shop couldn't get it off, even with some special tools they had. What else can be used to get it off...

Rough Idle on Wife's PT Cruiser

Looking for a little help here. The water pump went out on Tammy's 04 PT Cruiser. It was covered under our additional warranty so no big deal. While they were in there they suggested replacing the timing belt which seemed like a good idea since they had to take it off any how. Got the car back...

    New Front Air Bags Ordered

Ok, I had to order new front air bags. Just ordered them from Eddie. Got home from a day of running around and heard this grinding like noise in left front when I hit a dip in the road. For awhile the car has been lowering itself overnight to less then a finger between the tire and wheel well...

    Look What Joined our Family

My Father-in-Law just bought one of these -- 2004 Chevy SSR. Corvette Engine, Black Leather, Bose Stereo, 9,000 miles. Very nice. Tammy looks good in it.

Slight lowering of car at times

I've looked at some past threads about the air ride and have not found an answer so.... After my car has been sitting overnight and half a day, I noticed the front fenders were just about touching the tires, the right slightly more than the left. This is like the third time I have noticed this...

My Wife and Dog are Certifiable

Not mentally, but Tammy and Maverick passed the San Antonio Delta Society test again for Pet Therapy. This is a program where a dog and handler visit the sick, elderly, schools, etc. to promote healing, learning and pet companionship. Last year Tammy and Maverick were named the Delta Society Pet...

Air Suspension Bottoming Out - Relay

Coming home today and riding through our bumpy neighborhood, it felt like my suspension was bottoming out. Then I get to my driveway and I hear the compressor turn on and air the car back up. I don't think I have any leaks as the car stays up overnight and over several days as I travel. Could it...

Anyone Else Enjoying this Apple Fumble?

I've been waiting for months to get my hands on this Apple Computer 2.0 firm update for my iPod touch as well as getting my hands on the new 3G iPhone. What a fiasco trying to get the firmware update, getting phones registered, and the like. I think maybe someone from Microsoft was running this...
