    Need a new daily driver

My Daily driver Mark VIII got side swiped by a guy who ran a red light. The insurance called it a total loss. I need help deciding on a new daily driver. I'd like to get peoples thoughts, mainly dealing with reliability. I'm looking for a 4-10 year old car and would like to stay in the...

    spark plug issues

I was going to change the plugs in the green car I just bought. I have 2 issues: 1. The plus are in there right. Really right! I mean, really, really tight. I figure the last person to change then didn't use anti-seize. What's the best way to get them out? Or is it worth trying to avoid...

    Dyno day

Took the red car to Apple Valley Ford yesterday for some Dyno tuning. 3 years ago on a different Dyno, I was running out of fuel around 5k rpms. I have since added 2 Ford GT fuel pumps with -8 feed line and -6 return. Results: 464 rwhp 402 rwtq Link to graph htpps://flic.kr/p/oE2EtB I am...

    Road trip complete

I picked up my new Mark VIII over the weekend. I wondered to myself, Is there any other car that I would buy that is 15+ years old and drive it across the country with only the spare and the jack in the trunk? About the only other car I could think of would be a mid 90s S class or E class...

    bought another mark 8

Just bought a 98 lsc in Florida. It's green with tan interior and had only 57k miles. This means saying goodbye to my 96 tbird. It had a great run. A little over 6 years and about 105k miles. I'm gonna miss it...but now I'll have 2 mark 8's! I'm flying down to Florida Friday and driving...

    car sat for 2 years...

I'm finally getting my mark back together. It sat for over 2 years on jack stands. Put in a new fuel system. Question: What should I make sure I do before I start it up? I've done the usual, new fuel, new oil, new battery. Anything to help it start up right away?

    2nd time autocross

Took the Lincoln out autocrossing yesterday for the 2nd time. The course was set up very similar to the one I posted about a month ago. The course is set up by a local Corvette club and they like to set it up so there are some fast sections. This course is more of a hybrid of a road course and...

    Still having fuel problems

A little synopsis: Vortech supercharger, Ford GT fuel pump with Kenne Bell boost a pump. Flip chip running either pump gas or E85. I have been running only E85 since I initially took it to the dyno last summer. I am running out of fuel pressure right around 5000 rpms. I take the car out on...

    First time autocross

Went to an autocross for the first time yesterday. Holy crap that was fun! I don't think you could have more fun for $30. Learned alot about my car. What it can and can't do. The good: I can leave it in 2nd gear the whole time and still power out of low speed corners. The Wilwood brakes work...

    Dual fuel pumps

Has anybody ever put dual fuel pumps in their tank? I searched and found nothing. How big of a hassel is it to wire 2 pumps? Does it matter where I splice the wiring for the 2nd pump? I assume I'll have to go with thicker gauge wire from the battery.

    Wilwood brakes

Just got the front brakes finished up. 13" x 1.25" 6 piston calipers. Had these for about a year now. Just got around to doing the mustang hub swap. One interesting note: Stock rotor, caliper, pads and caliper bracket..........30.0 pounds Wilwood rotor, caliper, pads and caliper...

Not the usual hub swap question

On the rear spindle, I am trying to take off the dust shield so that I can press out the hub and bearing easier with the hydraulic press at work. The 3 bolts that hold the dust shield onto the spindle will not budge. This was after a day of soaking in PB blaster and then, of course, you have...

    Fuel issues

Finally got the car to the dyno and found out that I am running out of fuel pressure above 4500 rpms. I have just dropped the gas tank to investigate. I am running a vortech with a 3.33" pulley, SCT 2400 MAS, 60 pound injectors, and an Aviator fuel pump rated at 271 lph. Has anybody else...

    Vortech belt question

I have a 3.33" pulley on my vortech and was wondering if it makes a difference whether to get the 113" belt or the 112.5" belt. Am I just nitpicking? BTW I have the cobra steel tensioner. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=GTR%2D4061130&N=700+115&autoview=sku...

    Radiator relocation

Now that I moved the AC line to make the vortech bracket fit, I have to now make room for the inlet pipe. I searched the archives but the pictures don't exist anymore. Based onthe pic below, in order to relocate the radiator down 1-2" and closer to the condenser, do I cut on the blue line and...

    Vortech bracket install

How the heck does the vortech bracket fit onto the front of the engine? It looks like that AC line (see pic - runs from passenger side head towards radiator, makes u-turn) gets in the way. Did anybody else run into this issue?

    Driveshaft loop

Has anybody put in a driveshaft loop in their Mark? I'm putting in a bigger fuel pump now so I thought it would be a good time to do a driveshaft loop as well. Is there a particular universal driveshaft loop that would work best?

2005 Muscle Car Shootout at BIR

Every labor day weekend is the Muscle Car Shootout up at Brainerd International Raceway. Friday and Saturday are time trials and Sunday is the Elimination races. We had great weather, aside from the 4 hour rain delay on Saturday. Temperatures between 60 and 85 degrees. I decided to run most...
