I believe that on a Gen 1 that strap attaches to the frame inside the rail instead of on the outside as it does on a Gen 2. At least the Gen 1 that I'm working on was connected that way.Hmm, I was curious about that strap; I just double-checked my fender well there and there is nothing attached there. Not even evidence there once was one. I can see the screw hole and the horizontal slot for the tab of the ring connector, but nothing around...
So if I add one, that adds like +20 horsepowers, right?
Hmm. I was thinking that it was a fuel problem on my car, but I know this strap is missing on my car. Seems like I'll have fix this.Kicking this car's azz one problem at a time ...
Emission tray finally replaced. Much better
Then I did some digging around to find out what's causing somewhat of a weak upper RPM pull at WOT only, not at partial even 3/4 throttle.
I yanked on the passenger's side wheel well ground strap, and it fell apart in my hands (Thanks to Doug's post in the WTB section )
Of course, the motor mount stud came out in one piece with the nut still attached.
Some heat, clean up, new wire with soldered loops, back together in no time.
I also found the MAF to be in sad shape, so replaced it with a clean used unit.
Mike will need tires sooner than later
What tires did you go with?I have not done anything to it other than maintenance and the tires Jeremi begged me to buy. I have to say this is some of the best money I ever spent and the work is impeccable and I recommend anyone and everyone send their car to him to get work done.
