    Seat Covers or Not?

I love my leather seats and they are still in great shape with no tears or rips. Does anybody have seat covers to keep them protected from tears? Do seat covers actually hurt leather seats?

Manually venting vent solenoid is a piece of cake

Well, I took this whole week off to finally get around to fixing my high riding front end. It was a lot easier than I thought. I called Eddie to ask him if it was safe and he walked me through it. Without Eddie's help, I never would have known to pull off the air lines from the vent...

How can I manually vent by applying voltage

My passenger side upper ball stud broke off without me knowing it and now the front end looks like a 4x4. I temporarily put a bolt in with a nylon lock nut until I can get an upper control arm. It is mounted so that it can swivel and move albeit not as much as the lower stud mount. I've tried...

    Pretty Cool Milestone Today

Today my car hit 111,111.111 miles. It was tricky trying to get ready to pull over and take pics. I drove around my neighborhood where I could safely pull over and took a picture.

    Fram Oil Filters

I just bought a Fram 6X filter for my Lincoln because it was fairly priced and it filters 99.9 percent on one pass, but $6 less than a Mobil 1 filter. Do you think these new Frams are a lot better designed than the regular orange ones? I read back in the day that they were not the greatest...

How many owners have the extra capacity finned aluminum pans?

I'm seriously considering buying one of those high speed low drag aluminum pans for my trans. Not only are they gorgeous, more rigid, and hold more fluid, they just seem like a no brainer. However, they do cost a pretty penny. How many of yall have this pan and are you happy with it? Who did...

Trans pan keeps leaking in the front

Hey guys, I did my trans service about a month or so ago and threw away the original pan gasket because the new filter came with a new rubber gasket. Of course I wanted to kick myself in the buttocks after I read on here that it was reusable. I had bent it in half and threw it in the trash...

Trucks Building a Marauder Powered Mazda Truck

Is anybody following along on Spike's Power Block and watching the Trucks guys building the Mazda B2200 with the Marauder 4.6 DOHC? They've already got the engine installed with custom mounts and the transmission X member was moved a few inches back by elongating the factory mounting holes...

Turning Off The Air Ride, Safe or Dumb?

Since my car keeps getting intermittent check air ride messages, once every 3 to 5 days and then disappears, would it be a bad idea to just turn off the air ride switch and drive it while its at the sensor lowered stance?

    Replacing sway bar end links

Hi, I am about to replace both sway bar links because they are toast and they make squeaking noises at low speeds in parking lots. When replacing them is it easier to have the front end jacked up or both wheels on the ground. I would like to do this today and it looks fairly easy and straight...

Transmission Service Done Today, No More Shudder

I finally got around to changing out my transmission fluid and filter today. It was fairly easy, especially once all four wheels were off the ground. I tried jacking the fronts only but it did not seem high enough. I used 11.5 total quarts of Mercon V, 8.5 of which was Coastal Mercon V and 3...

    Picture to the User Name

I tried looking but can't really find any post where users are matched to their user names. Would yall agree it would be cool to put a face to a name, especially since Carlisle is around the corner? I'll be brave and start with a picture of me and my son Ronin in the rare NC snow last month...

Are Gen 1 Marks More Desirable Than Gen 2s?

I love the black grills on the Gen 2s and the HIDs and neons but for some reason I always buy a Gen 1, well, this is my second 95. I guess it doesn't require emission testing and seems to be easier to soup up. What does everybody else prefer and why?

Check Air Ride Message Comes and Goes

Not sure what is going on with my car but the Check air ride message comes on for a few hours or a day of driving and then all of a sudden it goes away. When the message comes on, the car is at normal ride height and the message comes on within 10 seconds. I did the sensor drop on it the day...

Just Washed and Iced My Car Today

I washed and waxed my Mark Viii today with Ice car wash and Ice Liquid Polish. Wow, that is the most awesome stuff ever. Goes on so easily and buffs out fairly easily. I will take pics of her later on tonight.

    ATF +4 or Mercon V?

I will be doing my 1-2 accumulator this weekend and also a trans filter and fluid change. I was wondering if I can use ATF+4 instead of Mercon V because I like the fact that ATF +4 is a full synthetic from Valvoline and Mercon V is a synthetic blend. I was at Autozone and noticed they have...

Ooops, Need some help with air ride

Last night I did my sensor drop mod going by memory instead of refreshing myself and well, now I am having "check air ride" message and car is somewhat high in front. I moved the front sensor bracket down and extended the sensors on the front instead of the opposite. I guess this gave the...

Going on a 9 hour round trip to hopefully pick up a 95 Mark Viii

Tomorrow morning, hopefully around 9am, my friend is gonna take me on a 4.5 hour drive to Charlotte to pick up a 95 Mark Viii. Its black on black and I'm hoping its an LSC, because the guy said its missing two emblems on the deck lid. I'm selling my 2000 SVT Contour to buy this beauty. It...

    Black 1995 Mark Viii

Here is my beautiful baby. I have so many more mods to do in the near future. I almost sold her recently but came to my senses and decided to keep her. Minor mods include: 85 mm C&L MAF with 9 inch K&N cone filter using the Leo Stealth Mod, Alpine MP3/CD Head Unit, Bauman shift kit and 1-2...

    Replacing positive and ground cables

Hi, Has anybody ever replaced the positive and ground cables in their Mark Viiis? If so, is it easy and straight forward or a real pain in the butt? I need to buy some jack stands so I can look under my car. My positive cables seems to be very corroded beyond the plastic cover. Thank you!
