Wipers won't park, or they won't wipe the windshield, and you can hear the motor is running when the wipers don't move.
The second one happened to my 98 CE last week, the wipers would start to wipe, then just sit there. These are both problems that can be caused by the park mechanisim. It's...
I installed these today, except for losing a headlight clip in the bumper, they went in easily enough.:D
Since it's a 93, the header panel needed to be trimmed a bit. I used my small reciprocating saw, that made it easy.
I've still got to do the high beam modification at the switch, and adjust...
I was driving to work and heard the compressor come on every once and a while for a short time then stop.
I've got the power wire to the air ride module connected to a cigarette lighter adapter, so I unplugged it, but the compressor kept coming on. I finally had to pull the compressor fuse...
We got dumped on, with 6" of snow yesterday. I drove my green 94 in to work with summer tires and no Traction Assist option.
I stopped by Jeremi's on the way home, and we installed the Traction Assist he had in his garage. It works great!
It's a BMW transmission in the trunk::D
My 98 has been starting very rough to the point I have to keep revving it up until it clears out and runs fine.
I'm thinking it's an injector or 2 that's leaking/plugged and flooding out the cylinders until it warms up. Anyone ever have this problem before?
This is common on the Mark VIII. It's usually the wire going to the blower motor from the module. You can see the white connector gets burned up on the orange wire side.
I've had to replace this a few times, but I ran out of good spares. Luckily I saved the old ones and just used the good black...
Then I get the hard fault and the check air ride message.
Anyone ever seen this before?
I'll start by looking at the relay and compressor first, then maybe the wires going to them. This car has had some problems with wires before.:)
I bought the CE 10 years ago. It was an auction car, it was previously wrecked in the RR quarter and front end. When they repaired the quarter, they just cut off the muffler, I'm guessing it was damaged in the wreck.
I got a spare muffler with enough pipe on it, to connect it using a short...
I was out of town a couple days and came home to a few inches of snow. It was a good opportunity to excersize the cars a bit, and I had to remove the Module 8 from the convertible to put it in the winter beater anyway.
It was a good time to top off the airsprings for storage too.:D
Happy Birthday Jeremi.
It was a great party, great friends, food and fun.
Only 3 Lincolns made it, it is winter though. My CE, Beerdog's MKZ, and Jeremi's mom's green 98.
Thanks again for the personalized Guinness glass beerdog!
I'm replacing the rack on the winter beater CE.
I normally enjoy working on these cars, but this one is a real pain.:)
It started out as a rusted hydraulic line, but I couldn't get one of the rack mounting bolts out. Since I had to remove it, I thought I'd just replace the rack with a rebuilt...
I bought some new snow tires for my winter beater.
I had been using some old snowflake wheels for my snow tires before, but they always seem to leak.
I decided to use my painted 20 spokes this time, since I don't care for them anyway. I don't want to destroy them though. My brother had painted...
This is from my 97, although I've done this on my green 94 as well.
I carefully pulled the mirror off, it snaps off easily, but be careful, the heater and dimming wires are short. Then I unplugged the wires.
Then I cut the rubber rim around the mirror off, and cut the wire off of it with some...
